Default Found out some surprising news about Ralph Carter this morning

I'm in the process of receiving some old soul train eps from the 70's and I cannot not believe that he actually appeared on Soul Train and sung the same exact song that he sung in Rent Party-"when you're young and in love" That blew my mind-LOL Did anyone else know this about Ralph?

That's a new one to me. Now how did I miss that. I used to watch that show every week. The funny thing about the show was the unscramble board. LOL. They always knew the damn answer. It took only a few seconds for them to do it.

Default It's True!

Ralph Carter was actually on Soul Train. This episode also included performances by The Pointer Sisters and the B.T. Express and aired on October 4, 1975. And he is a good singer. Makes you wonder if she should have kept recording or did he just do it for the publicity of Good Times. Either way, he Rocked!

I don't remember seeing him on Soul Train but I do remember seeing one of his LP's a dusties shop I frequent. I was too scared to buy though. I do remeber seeing Lawrence Hilton Jacobs on soul train when he came out with a LP. I remember because while he was singing he kept looking in the camera! Nobody else did that! They always look at the people in the audience.

As far as that scramble board. Those people needed to win in order too keep up their hairdos, it was always Johnson products from what I remember.

I remember seeing him on American Bandstand. Where I was living we didn't get soul train. And I remember Lawrence Hilton Jacobs, too.

Soul Train with Don Cornelius (name?) was splashed all over the waves when I was a little kid. I thought it was still on today exxcept it seems to be very very hard to find. I liked Solid Gold because it was so cheesy. Lawrence Jacobs sang too? Oh boy, and I thought Patty Duke albums were bad!!!

Soul Train should be on your local WB or UPN station or any other local station in your area.

I live in Canada. At that time (in the 70's) I was living in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. Soul Train did not aire in Canadian cities. That's why I caught them all on American Bandstand. You see, American Bandstand did aire here.

But I understand that you are talking about reruns airing now on cable tv. Still, we don't get UPN or WB unless we order the cable seperately for that but I was speaking about back in the day when Soul Train was actually taping, you dig?

That's what they need to show now, old 70's reruns of soul train! That would be tight! Even though I was born in 75, I still would love to see them dance back then with those afros. The most I remember was in that movie, Crooklyn, when they would show little snippets of it.
