Her real hair was exposed when Fred pulled her wig off her head in episode, "There will be some changes made." She had braids and they didn't look bad on her. They made her looked younger. Esther shouldn't have wore wigs. That wig almost came of in, "Mama's Baby....Papa's Maybe." If didn't nobody catch it, it was when Esther said, "Stop!" and put her hands over her ears and moved her head. The wig moved the other way.

The sad thing about all the female characters was that they wore wigs. In a season two episode, Ja'net DuBois guest-starred. She played the mother of a grown daughter, and wore a wig with gray hair. The way she looked normally (and her age, near 30 at the time), she should have been the daughter! I think on Good Times she wore a lot of wigs.
