I found them:

Viewers: 9.94 million (2nd in timeslot from 9-9:20pm, According to Jim took 2nd from 9:20-10pm, leaving the reunion in 3rd place)
A18-49: 2.9/7 (4th in timeslot)

That was still pretty good especially since it's not seen in many areas of the country

huh? why wasn't it seen in many areas of the country?

i think this one paled in comparison to HAPPY DAYS reunion show, which was longer (I don't think you can do a decade of TV justice with 1 hour) and more lively.

i know the HD was riddled with inaccuracies, however, i felt the ODAT was too low-energy-by the way, is there a DVD coming out on this show? it seems pointless to have one of these shows without a followup-just a tease, you know?

I meant that ODAAT is not seen i syndication in most cities. But I do know what you mean about a tease. You look at the reunion and see the memorable moments and the show is not being shown in your area or on DVD-lol

Default Reunion Special, What Fizzled?

I watched the reunion special, I'm a TV junkie from back in the day and I was excited about watching the show, seeing Bonnie, Valerie, Mackenzie, and Pat all in the same room again!

But, unfortunately something was missing from this special, and I'm not certain what it was.

1.) Lack of Time

2.) Lack of Outtakes

3.) More memories and less about Mackenzie's past problems

4.) More Guest Star appearances and commentaries

Could be a little bit of each, I certainly enjoyed the show because I was a big "One Day At A Time" Fan, but I felt the show was to rushed and wonder how much was dumped on the editing room floor.

I realize that a big part of the drama on the show was Mackenzie's drug problems, so I'm not saying it shouldn't have been brought up.

I think they wanted to make the special, like the cast were having a friendly visit and sharing a chat about the past, but I was left as if I had just gotten a morsel out of something that shoud've been so much more satisfying.

All In all, I'm glad they did the special, so I hope nobody takes my post as a slam against the actors or the show, I just think the network should've and could've shelled out a few more bucks and gave us a bigger reunion.

The biggest problem was the length of the reunion. It was only an hour and that in my opinion was too short for a sitcom that was on for 9 years on CBS. A reunion show that only lasts a hour I would think would be for 4-5 year sitcoms.

Your right, I wanted so much more for a show that I adored. Man, they don't make sitcoms the way they used to... uh, oh I just sounded like my Parent's right Then! LOL!

The reunion special was quite disappointing because there were a lot of holes in it that was not covered. Here were the holes:
  • Her relationship with her business partner Nick that led to a romantic relationship. They showed the clip with her being a temporary guardian for Alex but with no explaination how he came into Ann Romano's household.
  • Max and Julie's marriage. Briefly touched on but nothing about the birth of their daughter Annie.
  • Mark and Barbara's marriage. No mention of that.
  • Ann relationship with Mark's father, Sam, that led into marriage.
  • How the show ended.
  • Ann dealing with Julie's rebellion. Briefly touched on it when Julie ran away from home. There were a lot of episodes in her battles with Julie.

It was nice for them to touched on MacKenzie's drug problems and her being delivered from them. It was sad to see those clips from when she was strung out on them. She looked horrible and so thin in those episodes. It was a wonder that she is still with us today.

They should had taken the cue from Happy Days reunion special. They touched on a lot of things in the 11 years they were on the air.

One hour was not enough for a series that lasted 9 years and covered a lot of issues.

Very poorly structured Reunion Special. There should have been a discussion from the First episode to the Final Episode. They could have discussed the years in Different Groups, 1975-1978 Discussion followed by 1979-1982, and then the Last season discussion(1984)
