Have you ever wtahced a show and it reminds you of another show?
The best example i can think of is in Who's The Boss when Tony accidentally walks in on Angela in the bathroom.
The same thing happened in The Nanny,when Fran walked on Mr Sheffield.
So,just wondering if anyone else thinks that there are sitcoms that are much alike in their storylines,etc.

I found that The Nanny also did alot of things that Lucille Ball would do.There were times when Fran's antics reminded me so much of Lucy.

The Brady Bunch where Bobby and Cindy used a sceme to thinking he was sick to get Joe Namath at their home. On Differnt Strokes, Arnold, Willis, and Kimberly used a similar sceme to get Muhammed Ali to visit "sick" Arnold.

Family Ties and that crapfest Growing Pains. Even the creators of Growing Pains admitted the show was a rip-off of Family Ties.

Friends and the plethora of "young urban twentysomething friends" sitcoms in the mid-90s.

Cheers and Taxi have a lot of stylistic similarities.

I agree. You can notice it most in Season 4. Probably because that was the earliest season that really went out of the bar. The episode "Dark Imaginings" sounds like something they could just rip out of Taxi.
Even though Cheers was more "soapy" (with long story arcs).... it wasn't anything near Friends "soapy."

Also....
The first season of Ellen (then called These Friends of Mine) was a Seinfeld clone (3 girls and 1 guy instead of vice-versa)

I agree! In fact, there was one episode of "Taxi" that they wrote the script for, but before they filmed it, the show was cannceled. So, they changed the script a little and used it for an episode of "Cheers".

And I've seen a couple things in "Cheers" that reminded me of similar moments in "Taxi".
I remember, when "Cheers" debuted, there was a review in our local newspaper that said it might seem like " "Taxi" set in a bar"

I'd like to know as well.

I'm guessing it's from the second season as both Cheers and Taxi aired in the 1982-1983 season.

I'm not entirely sure, but on "Cheers" it was called "Miss Boston barmaid" and I think it's the one where Diane is elected "Miss Boston barmaid" and it's from either the 2nd or 3rd season-I think.

it didn't have a name on "Taxi".

I also saw an episode of "Frasier" once that used a plot that was first used on "Cheers".

That episode is called "No Contest" and was from the first season of Cheers. That was originally a Taxi episode?
