I have a GO Video dual vcr deck so I can make tape copies plus tapes other stuff while using my main deck. I like a dummy put in a head cleaning tape in the right deck of the thing & now it refuses to come out. It lists on there the words Error. The tape will not come out. I even tried unplugging it & replugging it in to see if that might clear it up but no go. I can't reach in there & try to pry the tape out or risk goofing up the vcr. & I can't afford to get ti fixed either. Anyone know how I can get it out without harming anything. If the tape cleaner tape got broke no prob I need a new one anyway. But can't risk goofing up the vcr. Thanks to anyone who knows. I hope I posted this in the right forum but if I didn't my apologies in advance...

Cheryl,
I had this happen to me for the first time recently (the machine's two years old), though with just an ordinary tape. I tried doing the same things you did, and it wouldn't budge. I eventually got it out by coercing it, gently tapping/prodding the tape on its sides/top/bottom, trying to be careful to not damage either my machine or the tape, which happened to be a friend's. Took a bit of doing, but eventually it came out all right. The machine hasn't done it again, and I must've played close to 100 tapes since that time. |
