Default Redd Foxx was mentioned on Good Times....

.....at least 5 times that I know of. His name came out of all that shows cast members mouth. I guess that was showing him respect as an actor and a comedian. Also, a black comedian on a sitcom at that time, it gave the Evans family someone who they could identify with.

Redd Foxx was mentioned on Good Times three times.

The episode-"TV Commercial" in season 1
The episode-"There no Bottom in the Bottle" in season 2
The episode-"Operation Florida" in season 3.

Are you sure? I know you are a TVShowAnalyzer (no pun intended) but I know for a fact I heard his name five times. I can't think off hand Willona and J.J. mentioned his name.

Willona and J.J never mentioned Redd Foxx. These were the characters on Good Times that mentioned Redd Foxx

Willona and J.J. did mention Redd Foxx. I know it for a fact. I can't remember the episodes, but they did mention him. If you have every episode of Good Times like I do, whether on vhs or dvd, I suggest you go back and research.

I do know that Redd Foxx was only mentioned during the James Evans era. And I just can;t think of when Willona or J.J mentioned him. Wait I think J.J may have said this TV set is so old that Redd Foxx comes out white. I think.

YES! Willona did mention Redd Foxx. I remember now it was the Reverend Sam episode("God's Business Is Good Business"-Season 1). She said, "I know You. You're the dude on T.V. who makes more money than BOB HOPE and REDD FOXX put TOGETHER!!!"

I'm pretty sure it was J.J. who said that about the television set. He was always making cracks about how bad it worked. I think that was the episode where James(John Amos) was going to be on TV to get a reward. Back in the Good Ole Days of Good Times.
BTW How do you like Season 4? It's not quite as bad as I remember. There are some good eps. Still not the same without James . . .
