Question What is your #1 favorite thing about The Golden Girls, other than it being funny?

I love their house (inside and outside as well!) and the way that it is decorated and I love their Lani and all the plants and also the plants and the landscaping on the outside front of their house. I also love where they live...Miami, Florida. I love the fact that ANY time I am mad, sad, sick, depressed or whatever the case may be, I can turn on The Golden Girls and I feel better INSTANTLY! Something about this show just gives ya that warm, comfortable, cozy, homey feeling inside....I love it!

The show has helped me through some difficult times in my life, namely when my grandmother who raised me, died. It was my comic relief at the end of the day. It just made me feel better.

I've had lonely moments in my life, as well. Whenever the Golden Girls are on, I feel that I've been paid a visit by 4 very close friends.

I like their house inside and outside, it looks so friendly and you feel welcome. When they sit in the kitchen and eat cheesecake, it's like home.

It always makes me feel good. If I am having a bad day, I can just turn on Golden Girls and it makes me laugh and I feel better.
The show is a classic and that's what makes it good.
I loved Blanche's house. I would give anything to live in a house like that and to have back porch that you can sit out on and talk or barbecue. I loved their clohtes; they were old lady clohtes but the style and the brand you know were expensive.
Just a great show all around. I love it!

Truthfully, I didn't watch this show when it first ran. I got hooked on the reruns on Lifetime Channel during the mid 90's.

For me, it would have to be the 80's nostalgia this show brings back to me and my childhood.

It gets a bad wrap for being a show about four old ladies, but the way I have it figured, if you take 30 years off of three of them, you have the female cast of Friends. Though I must confess I never got into Friends. Friends to me always perpetuated a stereotype; young people who are so full of themselves, and don't care about anything in the world but sex and drinking. The Golden Girls on the other hand fought a stereotype; old ladies who are too weak to fight anyone, only sit around the house and knit socks, and are too prudish to even think about sex. When I think about all the fights Dorothy got into, or all the charity work Rose did, or all the men Blanche dated, it continues to amaze me. Don't misjudge this one people.

Estelle Getty - absolute perfection as Sophia!!

I think I really loved that character because she reminded me of my mother. My mom's outspokenness wasn't because of a stroke, but she sure said what she thought and was a straight shooter!

Our relationship was very much like Dorothy's and Sophia's!

Also, love ANYTHING Betty White does - that woman truly is golden!!

All I know is that when four queens in poker becomes known as the Golden Girls hand, you're obsessed. I figred it this way:

Queen of Diamonds: Blanche
Queen of Hearts: Rose
Queen of Spades: Dorothy
Queen of Clubs: Sophia

I love everything about this show!! My Grandma and I used to watch the Golden Girls nearly every Saturday night, watching it only reminds me of the great times I had with her! She always loved to watch to see what the girls would be wearing. She thought they always were dressed so snazzy.

I could only hope that when I am older that I could have friends as near and dear as those girls!
