Thumbs down Looney Tunes friends getting a makeover?

It looks like the folks at Warner Bros. Animation are giving these legendary cartoon characters (from Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies) a complete makeover!! Imagine Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam as futuristic monsters??? What a shame!!! What do you guys think of this? Post your responses here! It makes me so mad I had to share this topic with the cartoon fans! The new LT/MM animated series will be called "Loonatics"!

Yahoo! article:
Looney Tune-Ups.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Article.

Disgusting, isn't it?

I like the original Looney Tunes better. If it comes on soon, stay away from that new show and leave it as they are.

I forgot one more article about the new so-called "Loonatics". It's from Zap2It's website. To see the new Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, etc., click here:

WB Sends Looney Tunes Into the Future.

I'll stay away from it, too, musicradio77. The older stuff's always the best!

I know you're right. I don't like this new show coming in the fall. "Loonatics" is a show about "Looney Tunes" in the future. That is kinda silly. I always love the old cartoons and I watch it again and again so much. But here a post that was taken from the Termite Terrace Trading Post in which they discussed about the new series that is going to air this fall.

Disturbing News from WB - Bugs' Fans Up in Arms!

If the new show is going to be on next fall, I will not going to watch this show. It's about "Looney Tunes" in 2772. But if I'm a big fan of the old cartoons back in the 40's, 50's and 60's, I would rather watch the "Looney Tunes" DVD's. But if I'm not a fan of the new show, I can stop watching and I can change the channel. I love the Looney Tunes, they're the best. I also rather watch Disney cartoons as well. I can give this new series "Loonatics" a big thumbs down.

It may not necessarily fail. It'll be aimed at today's kids, who don't have that attachment to the classic originals that we have. I don't think these characters will ever be as beloved as the original versions though. To answer the question: absolutely no, leave the characters as they are.

They shouldn't mess with classic characters like these.

Great picture of what the characters will look like!

The families of the men who made every WB cartoon a treasure may/may not like it but that's my opinion. Chuck Jones, 'Friz' Freleng, Bob Clampett and others would be very upset if they were alive today.

SHREEEIIIKKKK!!!

Isn't it enough that the Looney Tunes Characters are so commercialized that any outlaw appeal they may have had has been thoroughly destroyed, that these characters no longer have anything resembling integrity, that Time-Warner has to do THIS to them, too?

I am SO through with this!

To that complaint, Schwartz notes the old Looney Tunes cartoons will likely run forever on some channel or another, including the Warner-owned Cartoon Network and Boomerang cable channels.

"And secondly," he said, "these are cartoons. Lighten up! They're fun and the existence of one doesn't preclude the existence of another."

good defence from this guy. even though it's a lie. no one will know any better unless they turn on CARTOON NETWORK and see that they are not on it. and BOOMERANG and see that they are not on it either.
lighten up?? if the existance of this new crap doesn't preclude the existance of the older stuff, then where are the original TRANFORMERS, spiderman, BATMAN, tarzan, and shows like that? they are no where to be found, yet we get the new versions everywhere. the same will happen with this stuff.
we'll have to spend every dime we have on dvd's so we can have some entertainment because we can't get it no other way.

well, I'm glad that I'm not in the future in Acmetropolis - those colors are hurting my eyes.
