The Little Chill episode originally written for the 82-83 season! - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

From what i heard The Little Chill Episode was originally written while all the girls were still attending Eastland and slated to air the latter part of the 82-83 season.(a few episodes before Blair and Jo graduated).

The episode would of focused on the original cast at a slumber party in blair,tootie and nat's dorm room above the kitchen while Jo felt like the odd girl out.(the episode would of been a 2 parter) Of course Jo go's downstairs to the cafeteria in the middle of the night while all the girls are rebonding about there first year at eastland upstairs and is comforted by mrs.garrett who gives her a pep talk. The episode would of also revealed Nancy getting pregnant with guess who's baby, while still in high school and asking the girls to keep her secret. The episode was put on the shelf since they felt it was groundbreaking for nbc at the time(not too mention Lisa Whelchel's feelings).

The producers finally put the episode in motion in 86. They were able to get 3 of the original cast members back for a one time deal.The producers sensationalized the idea about getting Ringwald back for the one shot episode(who was still the teen 80's movie queen at the time) The episode was supposed to revolve around her and the new writers had really messed up the script which needed reworking to be believable,of course she declined. The episode also lost impact because Charlotte Rae was no longer on the show to help the episode be more effective.

Very interesting. Although I find it interesting they'd have shied away from that topic when they'ed already done suicide, divorce, rape, attempted child pornography.

I'm not buying it.

A "Lost Girls" reunion episode would be far too soon for season 4. Nancy getting pregnant and having Roger's baby didn't seem likely given what you explained. She'd be 20 years old and still in high school? Yeah...no.

There's no way that Molly Ringwald would come back in '86 while she had a successful movie career. Guest starring on TV in those days was considered a downgrade. And she still harbors ill feelings about her cut. I doubt she would want to do this or even bother to read the script.

It was, yet sometimes movie stars did appear on TV in the '80s. Burt Reynolds appeared on season 1 of "The Golden Girls" to wild applause (interestingly, the only famous guest star they let the audience applaud for). But it would seem that for at least "the younger crowd" in Hollywood it was looked upon as a downgrade.

If it was season 4, NANCY would have been 17 going on 18 and not 20

Okay, she’d be 19 in real life, in the 1982-1983 seasons since she had a late birthday in the year. She started on the show when she was 15. 19 is way too old to be a high school student unless she was held back a year...

Felice was 20 years old during the 1982-83 season. Her character Nancy O. was two years younger. Since both Felice and Nancy O. had high IQs and were going to study psychology in university, I doubt that either one was held back

NANCY was definitely 18 in season 4, 1982-1983 (they only start college in season 5 which would have been 1983-1984)

Let’s get this straight. Felice was 19 during the 1982-1983 season. She was born in November 1963. She’d turn 20 in November 1983. That would be during the 1983-1984 season. If Nancy was 2 years younger than Felice, she’d be 17 during the 1982-1983 season.
