Hi everyone. Just wanted to say hi, I am brand new on this forum. I have been a huge Wings fan for a long time. When it ran on Nick at Night I taped every episode but that one Christmas episode they never showed ( A terminal Christmas). So now I watch them daily. They don't make shows like this anymore and I wish it was still running. Well, that is it for now.
Oh, love this line from the episode "Fay There, Georgy Girl". I'm watching it right now. Casey- "You shouldn't talk, you're alone too". Brian - " At least I don't parade my valentine misery in front of others. I have the self-respect to hide in my room, weeping in my torn underwear, eating can after can of Dinty Moore Beef Stew." I always loved the dialogue between Brian & Casey. |

Welcome to the boards, Brian Hackett!
I've been a Wings fan since summer of 2000 when I watched it on USA. I've been looking for new shows to be more like Wings. Unfortunately I haven't found any. |

Thanks TVAdam. I have also been hoping to see new shows that have the same Wings feel but haven't found one yet. They don't make shows like this anymore. I have been a Wings fan since 1995. That is when I first really started to watch it. I wish this show was still going.

Welcome to SOL, Brian Hackett!
I love your choice of username, BTW I agree that there aren't really any good sitcoms on anymore. I wish we had more shows like Wings, Cheers, Taxi, Newhart, The Cosby Show, and other classics on the air. The stuff on nowadays is just unfunny garbage, IMHO. It seems like everything is a clone of either Friends or Everybody Loves Raymond now. The only current shows I still watch are The Simpsons, Scrubs, and ER. |

Thanks for the great welcome Homeriffic!!
Yeah, plenty of shows today just copy other shows that have been in syndication for many years such as Friends, ER, and all of these drama shows such as CSI and Law & Order. I really wish there were more shows on like Wings. Another show I can't get enough of is Night Court. You just don't find that humor anymore and that is sad. |
