Favourite David lines? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Ok, thought I'd start a new thread. David is infamous for his witty one liners -so what's everyone's favourite?

There are so many, but the one that comes to my mind at the moment is when Maddie comes into her office and David is sat at her desk wearing those 3D glasses and he says that she must be wearing a lead dress cause he can't see a thing.

The line in Next Stop Murder always cracks me up....when Maddie says "HA! I was not born yesterday!" And David's reply: "She's right. I had lunch with her yesterday. If she'd been born, I'd have noticed."

David---Because we have better things to do than try and find a woman in a haystack.
Maddie---Like what?
David---Like roll around in a haystack.

I, off course, like this one:

Maddie: Get your hand off my behind.
David: Is that your behind?
Maddie: ...
David: Is that my hand?
Maddie: ...
David: That's what I like about this place, you'll learn something new every day.
Maddie: Will you get serious!
David: Maddie, I just had my hand on your behind, if I get any more serious than that they are gonna move us to cable!

and I still can't believe this one isn't the answer to the round-robin game

Maddie: Maybe I'm the only one who finds it strange when a married woman walks in and tells us she wants to stop an affair she's having through the mail.

David:Can you blame her? Those little envelopes gotta limit the possibilities.

Maddie Hayes: I wouldn't want you losing any more sleep over me.
David Addison : Believe me, if and when I ever find myself over you, the last thing I'll be thinking about is sleeping.

I think that's from "In God We Strongly Suspect". I like that one too.

I also love the one where they're breaking into some door and he's waiting for her to get out a credit card and someone walk past and David says Look, would you be more comfortable in going to a hotel?' Can't remember the name of the episode.

Also, in Brother, Can You Spare a Blonde - where they're in the clothes shop, he says 'when they say virgin wool - how do they know?' And in the same scene, Maddie has a good line where she says something like 'when you've seen one guy in his socks you've seen them all, right?' I love it when she sinks to David's level of humour!

Oooh, and isn't this also the episode when he says to her, 'are you always this much fun in the morning?' and she replies, 'you're gonna die wondering?' Like that one too.
