I agree that as far as a romantic relationship, Monica and Chandler had the closest relationship. In a plutonic, it would have to be Chandler and Joey.

Plutonic or Romantic.... Joey and Chandler. I think having Joey keep in touch with him would be smart for the new series. Don't show him, but he would be a good device, for example....

On the second half of a two parter, instead of the normal "last time on Joey", they could have Joey trying to explain what happened to Chandler over the phone.

Apparently they don't even want to acknowledge Friends in the first season, in an attempt to further establish itself separately. Which I think is a bad idea - obviously, the references should be to a minimum, but none at all is a little silly. From what I understand though, they intend to throw in more references in season two.

I would have to agree with everyone and say Joey and Chandler. Monica and Rachel also had a good friendship.

I definatly think the Joey show didn't use enough friends refrences. He can not just forget about the people that he was that close with.
