Default Girl hit by 2x4

This may have been mentioned previously but the case from one of the early seasons about the girl struck on the back of her head by a 2x4 while on the back of her boyfriend's motorcycle in Carlsbad, CA has intrigued me for some time. She suffered permanent brain damage and I believe they said they had a pretty good idea about who all was in the truck that sped through the intersection. I just wondered if anything new has transpired in this case since it surfaces occassionally on Lifetime.

A rather difficult case that interested me was the biker in Arkansas who was hit by a semi tractor on the Interstate and was plastered on the grill for a mile or so. He fell off by the side of the highway and he saw the truck driver and another truck pull over for a few minutes and then flee the scene. The biker was paralysed but was going around truck stops throughout the country searching for any and all clues related to the driver's identity. A truly remarkable story of courage and fortitude.

You know that girl hit by the 2x4 episode was in a earlier season, however i have never seen it repeated. Does anyone have a name for her? Maybe her boyfriend told the cops who it was and that is why they don't show it. I have never seen it on a repeat.

Her name is Jennifer Pratt. They mentioned the boyfriend first said he got a look at who it was but later recanted. He said on camera that the cops basically forced him to say he saw who it was and that wasn't right. Translation: he probably knew who it was but didn't want to say for fear of his own life. I think they mentioned that the boyfriend had been a "nark" in the past in regard to some drug dealers but am not positive.

Yes, it was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time for her. The guys in the truck were targeting the boyfriend as it was believed he was cooperating with the authorities on a drug case. She just happened to be on the motorbike with him while they were sitting at a red light.

I don't think I've even seen this one in a while. The last time was on NBC.

Many students at Jenny's high school believed they knew who the boys were that hit her with the 2x4. But they were never willing to talk for fear of their own lives. It disturbs me that it's been over 15 years since this happened, and the attackers STILL haven't been punished yet.

As far as the hit a run trucker/motor cyclist case, I still can't help but shake my head in disbelief. Like I've asked before, what exactly did this trucker have to gain by doing this? Was he so bored that he thought trying to kill a motorcyclist would be fun or something? AUGH! What a sick, sick, sick idiot! Such a crazy world we live in.

Does anyone have any more info about the girl that was hit by a piece of wood? How old was she and did she die?

She was 16 when she got hit with a 2x4 in 1987. She survived, but was (and I imagine still is) brain-damaged.
