Default Quality family tv viewing?......I have an idea

Rather than voice disgust at NBC for their decisions, better to be constructive.

Want family tv on Sunday night?

Run back to back half hour shows of MY THREE SONS and LEAVE IT TO BEAVER. I don't know how "they" make money in Hollywood, but I bet you could make a fortune on these two ALL TIME family shows. All my friends at the ladies bridge club think it's a great idea.

NBC gave us 2 seasons of AD......and Jeff Zucker gave us the third. We ought to be appreciative that we had 3 seasons AND dvd's of the show.

Peace.

That's a good attitude. I am glad you feel that way.

Thank you NBC and thank you Jeff Zucker. Now scurry along boys, I know you have more money ventures to tend to while I look for something else to watch on Sunday night and the AD cast looks for work.

I *am* thankful for one thing though: That good ol' dysfunctional George Lopez family is still going strong. You go George.

Trish

P.S. I could not afford those DVD's on my *best* day.

I know, the dvd's are a little pricey. But they may come down sometime.

As far as being "annoyed" that people in Hollywood are "in it for the money"........well, THAT attitude and the thought of the "poor" AD cast looking for work do NOT mix.
Here's why:
Consider that the average cast member probably makes somewhere around $20,000 an episode......multiplied by about 20 episodes a season.......or, in AD's case some 57 episodes in 3 seasons........and you get a whopping 57 x $20,000......or some $1,140,000 per character.

Yes, that IS before taxes.....but even AFTER taxes you can see why I have said "they won't be without food or shelter any time soon".

I am NOT upset that they make so much. If you generate the income, you deserve the money. But it is JUST the same mindframe you complain about the "boys" at NBC having that sets up the system that pays that big money to those "poor actors/actresses" that are now looking for work.

Don't lose sleep over those poor souls.......having been on a prime time show for 3 years got them PLENTY of exposure for their next job. If not, let's hope they had a semi-efficient savings plan......as we ALL should have in this rich country of ours.
PLUS, they have ALL had hiatus' each year and many of them GOT other work and made MORE big money while on "vacation".

Peace.

Speaking for myself only, my concern isn't for the actors, or the crew for that matter. I'm sure they'll be fine. They're all very talented people who I'm sure will find work in the future. My concern is that I really enjoy the show, and I want to keep watching it! Pure and simple.

Cool I haven't

I haven't sent any disgust to NBC what so ever.I don't like My three sons or Leave it to Beaver at all so if they did put them on I wouldn't watch them.

And I haven't lost sleep over tv shows when I'm living the real world not the tv show the real real world by looking for a job looking at acting schools in NYC and Volunteering at a Nursery School and I won't loose sleep over tv shows.

I have had shows cancelled on me so if this one gets cancelled I am just used to it.Life goes on but I'm not saying it should be cancelled.I'm just saying if happens I can't act like it's the end of the world.Take Care now bye.Mel

I think that I should take a moment to put my posts into context, or a little bit of focus...

This message board is about American Dreams, therefore, when I am here that is what I am writing about in a passionate way. I love American Dreams, but when I click out of here, I am about hoping my son does well in school, finding work, fixing my body after a car accident and on and on and on.

American Dreams is one hour a week and this message board is fifteen minutes max every other day or so.

My life does not revolve around American Dreams or NBC or this message board or the Pryor family (Okay, well maybe it revolves around the Pryor family a little).

I am not in my basement in the dark eating five day old pizza and writing mean mails to NBC.

I am sure there are others like myself.

Yeah, I love American Dreams, but it is not *that* big of a deal. If I gave the wrong impression, my bad.

I've sent some postcards, because I figure it can't hurt. I doubt it will help. I just want to feel like I did something to try to save it, and I also want to put my money where my mouth is! Instead of complaining about it, I figured I'd do something about it. I like the show, but it's far from the center of my life. Maybe I feel so strongly about it because there's a real lack of quality, "family" shows on televisions these days, and it's disappointing that this show gets little to no support. That's it.

Like Storywriter said: shows get canceled all the time. We're lucky that we've gotten 50+ episodes as is. I'll be sad if it ends, but life will indeed go on!

I agree that I won't lose sleep over this show, but I will be dissappinted if and when it is cancelled. I have had alot of good TV shows in the past be cancelled, like Storywriter said, and I moved on. I did send letters to NBC to support the show not criticize the big wigs there. Leave it to Beaver and My Three Sons are already on TV Land at least LITB is. Finally, I don't care personally what happens to the actors -I just liked the show and don't want to see it end.

The only thing that does piss me off please excuse my words sorry big time and has nothing to do with what is going on with AD but the one thing that annoys and pisses me off is this reality tv crap and not enough Family dramas and sitcoms.

Reality shows aren't real and honestly all reality tv creators should fall off the planet. The first show that should go is the one that started non cable Reality tv and that is Survivior sorry to Survivior fans and As much as I am a big fan of Diana Degarmo and Kelly Clarkson American Idol should be the next and then The Apprentice, than Fear Factor sorry to all those fans as well and then all the others.

If I had one wish and it came thru that wish is chop the heck out of Reality tv meaning drop it all including MTv's reality shows like Real World Road Rules sorry needed to get my Reality tv Venting out so I'm very sorry I knock it all off topic just a little venting in a very calm no attitude way...Mel

I didn't realize that crap show has been on 10 years. That show started in 1995 cause that was 10 years ago.I can't believe the Real World is still on its on 13 years 14 seasons that's just patheic I wish it would go off with Survivior already.I'm glad to see a couple of people agree with me about reality tv so far .When I wrote my thoughts I didn't know what to suspect and I was a little afraid to write my thoughts on reality tv but I'm still a little eerie about my thoughts on reality tv.If somebody get annoyed I'll just ignore them...Mel

Survivor hasn't been on for 10 years, it's maybe been on for 5! It might be in its 10th edition, but it hasn't been on the air for 10 years.
