Default L&O SVU Game episode

I think that show last night on SVU demonstrates that games can be really addicting as well as show people who go out of their way and think that killing is some sort of "sport". Also btw, Stabler is still separated from his wife and showed him with one of his four kids. I almost thought that at the US Attorney's Office that Stabler would jump out and nearly knock that Federal Prosecutor out for information. But thank goodness Casey was there because had she not been there, he would had punched that arrogant fed out.

It was a very good, very scary episode! I learned alot about what it is possible to do with video and computer technology--that you can send that kind of e-mail attachment, in particular, was news to me OMG!

The young man who played Garrett looked soooo familiar to me, but I couldn't place him until I looked him up on the TV Tome episode guide for SVU. He was in several episodes of "Nip/Tuck" as the "life coach" Ava's son. I found him appropriately creepy yet charismatic in both roles.

OMG that was a scary episode. What got to me the most was when the defendant got in Casey Novak's face on the stand when she was grilling him about the email and he shouted, "It was just a joke! This whole thing is just a joke!!" OMG what a reality check. I guess it hit close to home for me, cause the kids I teach today seem to think most of life is one big joke. I have been dealing with a lot of teasing and name calling lately with my fifth graders and after last night, I had to have a talk with them about it. I used the lesson from this episode to preface that talk, that sometimes we think things are just jokes, but for our "victims" it is NO joke. What an eye opener.

I didn't know about that kind of email either. I know a bit about technology, I am one of our technology target teachers at our school, teaching other teachers how to use technology in their teaching of their subjects, but there is still a whole lot out there to learn. The other scary technology episode that was on the regular L&O a while ago, and was on the reruns on TNT the other night, was the one where a company sold information to a convicted rapist who then used the information to stalk and kill another person. Serena and Jack were trying to go after the company, and Serena walked into the DA's office with detailed information about Jack and the woman DA (her name is elluding me at the moment). It was kinda frightening to think all this personal stuff is out there about us for anyone to hack into who has the knowledge. The internet is a wonderful thing, but can be frightening too. Same with these computer games. It all give one pause to think!

BTW I think it was both cool and frightening for Stabler to have his son point them in the right direction on this case. OMG I can only imagine what was going through his mind when his son was playing this game... playing out the crime.... right before his eyes. But I guess in the end he was kinda proud of his son for helping them crack the case... I was hoping he would tell him that at the end, but he didn't, not in words anyway. This world is a scary place for our children.
