![]() I only can say that I have been watching MF since 1990. And I have the entire series on tape. I pretty much know each and every episode! So does Allison. But she knows more about the production end of things that I haven't a clue about! So I will vote for myself as most episode knowledgable(with Allison right there beside me) That's all I can say. LOL. Speaking of knowledge..........did you notice in yesterdays episode(about Thelma being alone for the weekend) that when Bubba was reciting the names of his fraternity brothers that he named "Ret Turner"? Ret Turner is the wardrobe guy on MF! I thought that was funny!

Yeah, I'll give Marlene this - she really has an eye for details.
She catches stuff I wouldn't have caught otherwise. She's also the queen of bloopers. I've only found one the whole time I've been watching.Yeah, I consider myself well-versed in the production area, mostly with airdates. Ever since I was a little girl, I've been able to memorize specific dates and rattle them off when asked to. For example, I know MF debuted on NBC on January 22, 1983 and ended on April 7, 1984. It returned in syndication on June 6, 1986 and ended for good on March 12, 1990. |

I'd have to vote for myself here. I've loved the show since I saw it on NBC as a kid in the '80s, taped it religiously in the early '90s, and I have analyzed every episode into all kinds of data and information. I've never loved a show more, and have devoted a large part of my life to it over the years. I know I haven't posted much in a while, but that's partly because I do so much "Mama" stuff in my free time.
Some things I've analyzed about the show: ---Naomi reveals ingredients for 3 of her own recipes ---Bubba had 15 different girlfriends (16 if you count his date with Luanne Fayette) ---Roselle Huplander is mentioned in 19 episodes, and she wasn't revealed as being grossly overweight until her 6th mention ---We are told 14 slogans for different Raytown products ---17 different horses are named at Ray Downs ---There are 73 different songs performed (in full or partial) or mentioned in the series ---There are 50 different meats or "meat dishes" and 42 different desserts mentioned in the series (not counting name brands or "Ray" brands); out of all the food lists I've done, these are the 2 food groups with the highest number of variations mentioned And that's just a few things, lol. If "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" were still on and she had a contest for MF like she did with "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", I'd take anybody on. lol

Not only Ret Turner, Bubba mentions almost every man who was on the "Mama" crew at that time. Some of the SAP frat brothers include: Clyde Allen Pete Basker Chuck Bullot M.J. Cody Bill Harp Steve Hill Dale Phillips T.J. Plumb Buck Robinson There are about 10 others that are harder to make out, but now that I've recorded it on TBS, the quality is better and probably easier to hear...but yeah, check the end credits, and all the names are there. |

Well I can't say exactly. See, for example, I didn't go through the episodes on a "just food basis". I've dissected every single episode by taking note of bascially any proper noun that was on the show (including names), and also the general ones like food items, Iola's handicrafts, etc. I mean, I got microscopic and analyzed every single detail of all aspects of Raytown, the characters, and everything surrounding them---even what was on their dinner or table or simply mentioned as a "food noun", lol.
And no, I didn't need a straightjacket, I did a lotta this when I was laid off my last job and before I got my current one---I had ALL this free time on my hands, was on a big "Harper high", and I did, like, nothin' but "Mama"! lol
