Do you agree with people saying that a Submarine sandwich is healthier
than most fast food.I mean they saying it will be only if you add lean meat, low fat cheese, and fresh vegetables it will be. But if you add like your basic pile on meats, cheese, mayonaise, vegetables, etc. it's not. Don't you think that a sub combo with chips and drink would hold as much calories as a hamburger combo with fries and drink would? |

Nah, getting those meal combos at Subway isn't particularily healthy. But it's possible to go in there, and get something good, which the same can't really be said about most fast food. Avoiding the chips/cookies and pop at Subway is a good way to eat healthy there...but not many people would like to go without both pop and a snack.

Anything's healthier than that deep-fried fast food crap.

It all depends on what you put on it. Of course if you put all that extra stuff on it, it will be more fattening. When I first went on my diet the only place I would eat out at was subway and I not only had the subs but also the salads. It was very good.

Yeah, as long as you don't put mayo cheese or butter on it!

Unless you put tons of roast beef or meatballs or some of that stuff they show on TV swimming in marinade on a sandwich, you can get a healthy meal. Wheat bread, veggies, ham or turkey. The only subs I eat are turkey and/or ham, mustard, and lettuce. Better than a burger.
Best thing is if you go to some place like Panera Bread, cuz there you can get a salad or cup of soup with your sandwich instead of chips. |

Of course it healthier than a McDonald's hamburger for example, but if you eat Subway all the time, its not like you're going to be the skinniest person. The subs still have a fat content.
