Lazy eye

I was just wondering if there was a type of surgery to correct a lazy eye?

I wouldn't have a clue.I've never known anyone with a lazy eye,and i dont know how they are corrected.But if you dont correct it,i'm quite sure it causes a person to go completely cross eyed.

My brother had to wear a patch on his eye for a couple months to correct it.

I really hate what people call Lazy eye because that's not what it is, most people think Lazy Eye is when you have one eye that's in a weird direction. Lazy eye is when you can't see as well out of one of them and that's what I have in my left eye. If I close my right eye I can't read anything.

I have Lazy Eye,My right eye is the one I have it in,I wear glasses to
correct it. I don't if there surgery for it, but you may need to wear glasses
or patch your eye,However patching is recommended when you're a child
because the older you get,the worse it gets.You may also want to
have an eye exam to determine whether you have astigmatism.
Because I have also have alot of astigmatism as well.

I don't think astigmatism has so much to do with lazy eye. Astigmatism just means your eye isn't round, it's more egg shaped. And I think it affects adults more.




Astigmatism is characterized by an irregular curvature of the cornea. This type of disorder is also known as a refractive error. Astigmatism occurs in nearly everybody to some degree. For significant curvature, treatment is required. A person's eye is naturally spherical in shape. Under normal circumstances, when light enters the eye, it refracts evenly, creating a clear view of the object. However, the eye of a person with astigmatism is shaped more like a football or the back of a spoon. For this person, when light enters the eye it is refracted more in one direction than the other, allowing only part of the object to be in focus at one time. Objects at any distance can appear blurry and wavy.

I don't know about that,I've been wearing glasses since I was five,
but then again I'm not a vision expert.

It's not limited to just adults. It could be a combination of myopia (nearsightedness) and astigmatism. The article said sometimes it's not diagnosed in children as much.
