Default Fonzie's the coolest character in television history?

With all due respect, I'm not quite sure about that. He may be the coolest character in television sitcom history; but since Star Trek hasn't done any sitcoms, I'm not sure he's cooler than characters like Spock, Data, Odo, Seven of Nine, and T'Pol. The character Data himself is cool, but the guy who played him isn't because he killed Data, and he's a murderer unless he rectifies that situation by having Data brought back to life officially. If they're saying he's cool because of the way he snaps his fingers, taps things, etc. to turn lights, jukeboxes, etc. on and off, look at the neat things that happen when Q snaps his fingers. Of course between Happy Days and Star Trek, which one has a spin-off that's currently on the air? Though after watching that 30th Anniversary special, I wish they would do another spin-off. I think it'd be neat if they did a fan fiction Happy Days/Star Trek crossover story because I'd like to see if Fonzie's ability to turn the lights on by tapping the wall would work with 24th century technology, and I'd like to see if he could do that with Data if the android had a malfunction. I have seen that ability fail the Fonz once when he and that one blond guy who bought an encyclopedia set for a couple who were getting married were in a plane together, and Fonzie tried to get the plane to work by hitting it. Whatever happened to that guy? How come he wasn't in the 30th Anniversary special? I also noticed they didn't have Arnold or that one girl who moved in with the Cunninghams during one of the last season. Is the guy who played Arnold still alive? What happened to these people? I was hoping they would've shown the scene from the two-part episode where Joanie was in a bikini because I taped it. I know they had a few bikini scenes during the show, and I think that was the best one. Does anyone know when that episode might air on TVLand or something?

I've never been impressed with anything on Star Trek ( IMO Lost In Space was a better show) so Fonzie was definately cooler then anything there.

How can you even begin to think that anyone on Star Trek is cooler than Fonzie? You must be out of your mind. Fonzie is definitely the coolest.

Is he cool enough to help me out with a little something? So far, I've only hinted that some of the characters on Star Trek like the Vulcans and the Borg might be cool enough to give him a good run for his money on this board; but I'd be willing to go on national television and say that Fonzie's the coolest if Henry Winkler would do me a little favor. I'd like to either see another spin-off launched that has another Fonzie-like character or else have the Happy Days reruns ran on a network like FOX, CBS, NBC, or ABC so that everyone can watch them whether they have cable or not; and everyone will be able to see him tapping the juke box or the wall to turn lights on and off. Then I can buy some stock market shares from the company that makes those Clappers, watch the shares skyrocket because everyone will be wanting to get one so they can be like the Fonz, and make a million dollars or two. I read that he's Jewish, so I'd be happy to donate some of the profits to his church if I make a good profit. Is there any chance he could do that? I noticed that he was saying after he snapped his fingers and those girls came up to him that the snap knows no age limit. Were any of the girls who came up to him in any of the episodes under-aged?
I think that girl's name who joined the Cunninghams in the last few seasons was Casey. How come the actress who played her and the ones who played Arnold and that blond guy weren't there?

NO, Fonzie was too much like a Cartoon character to be considered the Coolest

Fonzie was cool. He was influenced by James Dean some, but he brought his own style as well. It was really his own style that made him cool.

The coolest character ever was in the movie Rumble Fish: Motorcycle Boy portrayed by Mickey Rourke.

Because Mr. Spock and Mr. Data didn't brag about being cool the way Fonzie did. Never once in all three seasons and six movies of the original Star Trek or the seven seasons and four movies of Star Trek: The Next Generation did Mr. Spock or Mr. Data say that they were cool. They had abilities that made them superior to humans like more strength, stronger senses of hearing, and being better at being able to figure out how to solve a problem logically; but they didn't go around bragging about being cool and just simply used their abilities to help their friends. Mr. Fonzarelli (did I spell that right) helped his friends, but he also felt he had to keep on saying that he was cool. Did he think people wouldn't be able to figure it out for themselves?

With all respect to you and other Star Trek fans, i'm sorry but for all their respective "powers" and abilities, I dont recall ever seeing either Data OR Mr Spock: wear a leather jacket, ride a motorcycle, pick-up chicks, or intimidate a rival gang member or neighborhood bully into backing down from a fight.

I don't know where you get your definition of cool, but I don't think that it's on the same PLANET as the Fonz.

Right on, man.

How can you even compare Fonzie to a Star Trek character? Not only are they completely different, but theres no contest whatsoever. Fonzie is the coolest Television Character ever, PERIOD!

Gang members have never posed a threat to any of their friends in the 23rd and 24th centuries; but if they would've, Mr. Data could take on an entire gang singlehandedly and come out of it unscathed while Fonzie was holding an ice pack to himself in an episode after a rumble.
As for picking up girls, Mr. Spock could've had a relationship with Christine Chapel if he so desired; but he did not. Of course in the 24th century, anyone can recreate chicks to pick up on the holodeck even though they're not real. They could also both have ridden motorcycles if they wanted even though that form of transportation is a little primitive compared to what they have. I'd like to see how Fonzie would fit in if he were to beam aboard the Enterprise where they might not have ever heard of the Fonz or Happy Days and see if he can convince the crew of the Enterprise that he's cool without saying he's cool. Could he snap his fingers and pick up the empathic Deanna Troi who can sense his emotions? Could he do that with the Borg on Star Trek: Voyager Seven of Nine who used to have the ability to assimilate people before she lost some of her Borg nanoprobes? When I first saw Star Trek: The Next Generation, I mistook Jonathan Frakes who played Troi's boyfriend William Riker for Anson Williams who played Potsie Weber. I know Anson Williams directed a few episodes of Voyager. Maybe he could help out the crew of the Enterprise by tapping the transporter when it's having problems to get it to work; and of course, Data could be his juke box. I think it'd be funny if Fonzie were to use the catch phrase, "Sit on it" with Data. Data had a tendency to be literal minded, so his response would probably be, "Sit on what?"

Spock, Data, Odo, 7 of 9, and all the others are no way as cool Captain Kirk.

He always saved everybody's ass, promoted galactic peace, and made it with females of every color and planet.

Ever see Fonzie or Data make it with a green chick?

So now you're saying that some of the characters on Star Trek are more cool than Fonzie like I've been trying to say? It is true that Data's not quite the lady's man that Captain Kirk or even Mr. Spock was, but he did have an intimate moment with Tasha Yar in the first season episode "The Naked Now." That post about Fonzie intimidating rival gang members and neighborhood bullies and riding around on his motorcycle has made me wish for a little fan fiction if there are any fan fiction websites that have Happy Days stories. Are there? I know there was at least one Happy Days book put out called The Bike Tycoon, but I haven't gotten it or read it yet. I know a guy in one of our malls probably has a few Happy Days books though. There's another difference between Happy Days and Star Trek. Star Trek's still putting out books. I used to have a Happy Days viewfinder, and my nephew has it. Would that be worth anything to Happy Days fans? If so, I'll e-mail my sister and ask her to let me try to sell it, so we can get other viewfinders for her son. Here's a way they could do a fan fiction story where Fonzie could try to prove to the crew of the Enterprise that he's cool. Q could show up at Arnold's one day and maybe annoy the Fonz a little with his powers and then propose a test to the Fonz after whisking him to the 24th century, and the test would be for him to convince the crew of the Enterprise that he's cool without saying it. If he says he's cool to any of the crew even once, then he fails the test. Then we can see if Fonzie would have any luck with a green chick.
