He died at the age of 72 from complications of heart surgery on January 16th.

This is terrible news.
He was a great actor. I thought he was great in Animal House, Dirty Harry, Point Blank, and Charley Varrick. He will be missed. RIP John. |

What's weird about this for me, is that up until recently, I though John Vernon had died in the early 90's for some reason and then I saw him last year on a new special about Animal House, only to have him die for real just a few months later
