Former 'Brady' Finds Love on 'Surreal Life'

NEW YORK - Before participating in VH1's wacky has-been cavalcade "The Surreal Life," Christopher Knight was a single child actor turned desk jockey turned out-of-work actor best known as the squeaky Peter Brady.

Now Knight is dating fellow cast member Adrianne Curry, actually working as an actor and ... well, still best known as the middle Brady boy. Despite the inability to shrug off his milquetoast image, the 47-year-old is happy with the exposure.

"I couldn't have expected this," Knight told The Associated Press in a telephone interview Tuesday, moments after arriving home from the gym.

"This would have been an outlandish expectation. I was just hoping to recalibrate an audience to who I am. I didn't think I would get work. I didn't think it would put me back in play."

In fact, he didn't think a "Surreal Life" experience was even respectable. In an interview with the AP last September before he signed up for "Surreal Life," Knight said he'd been approached by the show's producers but would never participate. After watching all 10 episodes of the second season and hearing advice from friends in the biz, Knight flip-flopped.

For two weeks, he was followed by cameras while shacking up with the likes of former WWE wrestler Joanie Lauer a.k.a. Chyna, rapper Da Brat and Mini-Me actor Verne Troyer.

"The most surprising part having done this is the friendships," Knight said. "I mean, `The Surreal Life' was just like any production. For instance, the Bradys are like a family. But that was five years. This was 12 days."

Knight was first skeptical of Curry's advances during the show. After prodding from producers and "removing my arrogance," Knight romantically opened up to the first "America's Next Top Model" winner, who at 22 is 25 years his junior. After the show's taping, the pair have become completely committed. She's staying with him until she can find her own place in Los Angeles, and he's met her mother.

"It was just like meeting any other parent," said Knight of the model's mom — who's a year younger that him.

Now that Knight and Curry are coupled, their love story might continue in the vein of "Strange Love," the "Surreal" spinoff starring lovebirds and former "Surreal" cast members Brigitte Nielsen and Flavor Flav.

"It's something that was pitched to do by Adrianne, actually," Knight revealed. "Frankly, I would hope not to have to expose myself to that level, but Adrianne is a much different person than I am."

His career is getting a big boost again though. What's amazing is how GOOD he looks at 47.... I'm surprised that Adrienne is only 22. I thought she was older than that.

Peter Brady was ripped though. I didn't know he was 47. I thought he was maybe 40.

I hope he has alot in common with her. 22 is a bit young. But yet again some older men love younger woman.

I could never imagine myself with a 22 year old. Except of course...... Jessie Metcalf the gardener in Desperate Housewives.

Adrienne is pretty wild and Chris is pretty tame. However, opposites attract and Chris does know how to party when he wants to. I think she should have a pet name for him, "Daddy", as in "give it to me, daddy!"

I don't like reality shows, but I do like VH1's "Celebreality" programs.

Why is it so "sick" that there's 25 years between them? I have friends who are a couple, and one is 45 and the other is 25... and they are truly in love with each other and have been together for three years. I've seen guys who are over 15 years older than me that I wouldn't mind dating.

Plus, Chris is a very good-looking 47 year old... who would've guessed the black sheep Brady boy would wind up the best looking one as an adult?

Chris and Adrienne are a lot less a sideshow couple that Flav and Brigitte definately, I wish them all the best.

Mother - "Don't ever marry a man who is 15 years older than you"... (She married my father who was 15 years older than herself).

Pitooey - Why Mom???

Mother - Because when he's older say 65........ You're still young and he won't take you out anymore and he doesn't want to do anything anymore and he just sits around while you want to go out and enjoy your life.

Believe it or not I saw it with my own eyes and I listened to her.

Why is it so "sick" that there's 25 years between them? I have friends who are a couple, and one is 45 and the other is 25... and they are truly in love with each other and have been together for three years. I've seen guys who are over 15 years older than me that I wouldn't mind dating. Plus, Chris is a very good-looking 47 year old... who would've guessed the black sheep Brady boy would wind up the best looking one as an adult?
