Default Whodini's Escape Album

Very good album. I used to think this was their debut album but it's not. The songs i like on here are Five Minutes Of Funk, Freaks Come Out At Night, Big Mouth, Escape, Friends.

Did you know they recorded this album & their Back In Black album in London? I wonder why they recorded both of those albums overseas instead of in New York which is where they're from. I think at the time, their record label Jive was started in London.

You're right! Jive Records did started in London. One of the first artist to signed with the label was Billy Ocean. His first album for Jive "Suddenly" features the songs "Caribbean Queen", "Lover Boy" and the title cut. Jive did a lot of great artists including a Tribe Called Quest, Hi-Five, Boogie Down Productions, KRS-One and last but not least, my favorite, Britney Spears.

Gotta love those songs. "5 Minutes of Funk", "Freaks Come Out At Night" (sounded a lot like Halloween) and "Friends". I love all three songs from the album.

I remember Billy Ocean. I like his Caribbean Queen, When The Going Gets Tough(this song is on Jewel Of The Nile soundtrack also), Love Zone, There'll Be Sad Songs To Make You Cry, Showdown songs. Jive records also is home to Too Short who has been with the label since Born To Mack album, E-40, UGK, Mystikal, R Kelly. Keith Murray & Spice 1 used to be on the label too.

I got this cd. The saxaphone on Caribbean Queen and When The Going Gets Tough was off the chain, baby! Who says can't nobody get funky in the 80s?! Yeah boy!
