Ellen is my favorite character cos she's just like me!
I also like Audrey though. I feel so sorry for her sometimes cos she always means well and doesn't realise how incredibly annoying she's being.

I think Adam is my favorite character, he reminds me of a close friend of mine.

Ellen, of course. She's too funny.

Does anyone remember the first season when it was called These Friends of Mine? I think that season and that cast was the best.

I remember the first season and really liked the show and the characters. It was still good when they changed it. I've always wondered though why they changed the show so much from the first season. Did it get bad ratings?

Default of Course

yeah it got bad ratings that's why the second season had different characters and settings. It's ratings when up the second season making it a hit.

Actually, Will & Grace Fanatic, it was the number 5 show in the first season, when I think it aired right out of "Roseanne."

But I remember reading an interview with Ellen where she said that she was unhappy with the show and she brought about the changes. After that, the ratings dropped steadily to 13th, 44th, 31st (with "The Puppy Episode") and finally back into the 40s, where it was canned.

Laurie was played by Lisa Darr.

Laura Dern played Susan in "The Puppy Episode".

I like every season of the show, but the third was my favorite. I didn't mind them getting rid of Holly. And I liked Paige more then Anita. I liked how they added Buy the Book. So I guess I liked the changes Ellen made. I have mixed feelings about the Adam character. I liked him, but I liked Spence more.

Originally the show seemed like "Friends". However, due to Ellen's changes it became more of a Lucy/Laverne & Shirley type show, which I liked better.

Paige I guess....? I really don't have a strong favorite, in general I preferred the These Friends of Mine cast and also Ellen herself during that time. It was too bad the originals all eventually left, especially Maggie Wheeler, but their loss was Friends' gain.
