It's good to see classics like Family Ties and Cheers on N@N but they have been really going downhill, I think. Their schedule used to be a lot of old shows which was good but now they are getting to be new and i don't like it!

As an article wisely stated, the children of the 80's are now in power positions in television, which means their nostalgia will influence a lot of programming choices on channels that air old-time programming. TV Land right now is stuck on 70's stuff, N@N on the 80's, and you guys from the 60's are suffering from it, as most of your stuff has been moved to the middle of the night. But with old execs leaving and new ones from more recent years taking over, this trend will continue...forever, really. About ten years from now N@N will be all 90's shows.
And the unfortunate thing is that new shows hit syndication every year, pushing out older ones, and making too many choices and not enough stations to air them. Therefore, older shows get the boot and newer ones clog the airways. And for a nostalgia channel like Nick at Nite, they go thru the same thing, just 10 years behind. |
