anyone know the answers to these questions... i've looked my book up and down and back up again and cannot find them...

Which of the following client Operating systems require WINS to funtion properly in a routed network? (Choose all that apply)
a) Windows 95
b) Windows 98
c) Windows NT
d) Windows 2000
e) Windows XP

Which of the following situations used NetBIOS names (Choose all that apply)
a) resolving a UNC path
b) accessing hte web page www.microsoft.com
c) opening My Network Places
d) a Windows NT workstation logging onto the domain

Which methods can be used to configure a Windows XP computer witht he IP address of a WINS server? (Choose all that apply)
a) DNS distributes the adress
b) DHCP distributes the address
c) broadcasts distribute the address
d) edit the properties of TCP/IP to assign the address
e) multicasts distribute the address

WINS clients send a name refresh request when one-half of the _________ is complete
a) renewal interval
b) extincition interval
c) extinction timeout
d) verification interval

What can be done to accomodate NetBIOS servers that are unable to participate in a WINS enviroment? (Choose all that apply)
a) creat a HOSTS file on each client

(i'm pretty sure this one is b&c only)

geez - I'm doing homework now? i am NOT a network administrator, so i don't guarantee any of these answers, but I'll try to help to the best of my ability.... refer to Microsoft for the best info

i am not entirely sure which of the methods that would work here... i think it depends on how you configure the client machines
a) DNS distributes the address
d) edit the properties of TCP/IP to assign the address
e) multicasts distribute the address (i think this is USUALLY used to maintain WINS servers working together, but I dont know if there is a way to make it work for an XP client)

I marked 'em in my book, gonan see Tues. if anyone else has done it... this class is extremely technical.. but it is my second to last semester, so what can I expect?
