Fonzie or Urkel - Best breakout co-star - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

These two characters may seem different as night and day, (Fonzie's cool, Urkel's a nerd), but they both started out as minor characters on their respective shows and eventually had most of the storylines revolved around them.

I like Urkel, (I thought he was funniest in the early Family Matters shows), but Fonzie gets my vote!

Fonzie, definetly. Urkel is cool too, but he can get annoying at times.

The thing about Urkel is that he stayed the same, just got a bigger role. Whereas once Fonzie got a bigger role, they made him more of a role model and less of who he originally was.

I can't choose between them, I was just pointing that out.
