Post Next all new W&G episode, "Dance cards and Greeting Cards" 2/10/2005

Grace tries to ignore the greeting card holiday but romantic urges eventually send her into the arms of the enemy -- none other than Nick, a hunky greeting card writer. In a dramatic change of events, Karen's former nemesis Scott Wooley tries to win her heart by showering her with gifts but Karen's eyes are on larger things, -- her new overweight internet date. Elsewhere, after dancing with a lesbian couple Will and Jack find comfort in each other's arms for the Valentine's Day spotlight dance.

NO MORE hearing the final season from JD OKAY?!

Smile Episode Thoughts/Review

Hey guys whats up? Ok well i just saw this episode and yeah hmmm got some mixed feelings about this one. I usually don't develop like a true, accurate review of will and grace episodes until i watch them back a couple of times and read y'all's opinons and what not, but i think i'll give it a shot this time. Please forive me if its kinda long.

Well in terms of the writing and story, this one actually wasn't too bad. I think that they sacrificed the comedy and laughs in this episode in order to make it more structural. The main story with karen, will, and jack was ok. They managed to squeeze in a love/closure story between karen and scott wooley, while allowing jack and will to stand up for like their gay rights in the spotlight dance. The story between grace and the card guy was kinda romantic, although their kiss in the end did seem just a bit forced and cliche. As mentioned before this episode wasn't too funny but it did have its highlights, the will/jack dance with the lesbians was quite funny and beverly lesley is always a hoot. All in all i think that this episode really maintained a sense of balance. No story resolutions were really shoved down our throats, and everything developed kinda naturally, for the most part, although the reasons why karen didn't want to be with scott is still boggling me. But as mentioned before by maintaining this balance they severely sacrificed a lot of the laughs. But i can forgive that, cuz i understand and am satisfied with their direction choice in this episode. They had to bring closure with karen and scott, while starting something new with grace, they shifted attention away from will and his whole vince drama to possibly give him some break time from the spotlight. Not a momentous episode, but a necessary, structured one in the season. I just hope that the laughs come back next week. Boy i miss vince.

Default Valentine's Day Quote

Did anyone happen to catch the quote from when Grace was talking to the greeting card guy? It ended with the chocolate people doing God's work??

Not that great. The highlight was seeing Beverley Leslie again.

I agree, Slackermonkey. Karen and Beverley Leslie's fights are always a highlight.

My favorite slam of hers was a couple years ago when she looked down on him and asked - "Shouldn't you be in your tree making cookies?"

"It's just this whole day. It's like this evil conspiracy created by the greeting card people and the flower people and the candy people. Well, not the candy people, they do God's work."

I thought the episode was okay. Some funny moments, some odd moments, par for the course for Will & Grace.
