While Joey has not attained the level of audience improvement it had hoped, the spin-off did manage to increase its audience size slightly on Thursday night, when it aired a new episode without competition from Survivor for the third week in a row. The fifteenth episode of Joey came away with an 8.2 rating and a 13 share, slightly ahead of last week's 8.0/13. The numbers make it the most-viewed Joey episode since October 14, 2004. With an estimate of 12.66 million viewers, Joey ranked fifth for the night, trailing the premiere of The Apprentice 3, a new episode of ER, and repeats of CBS's dramas, as shown by the preliminary ratings.
1. ER: 12.6/20 2. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (Repeat): 12.2/18 3. The Apprentice 3 (Premiere): 9.8/14 4. Without a Trace (Repeat): 9.2/15 5. Joey: 8.2/13 6. Wickedly Perfect: 5.1/8 7. The O.C.: 5.0/8 With most of its lineup in repeats, CBS ceded first place to NBC, which won the night easily with a 10.4/16 average, well ahead of CBS's second-place 8.9/14. Joey slipped out of the season-to-date top twenty in January. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation has a stranglehold on the number-one spot, while Joey continues to compete with Will & Grace for the number-three sitcom behind Everybody Loves Raymond and Two and a Half Men. Joey airs a repeat next Thursday night before entering the crucial February sweeps period. |

Joey's definitely starting to settle into consistent ratings now.

True, but keep in mind that no Survivor=higher ratings. I want to see how well it does once Survivor comes back.

I haven't forgotten about the Survivor factor. I'm just appreciating this while it lasts.

The good news is, that the show's ratings didn't slide during Survivor's absence.

I wouldn't have thought they would. Joey is starting to gain a respectable fanbase, and without major competition, it doesn't make sense that the ratings would sink.
