In the so-called final episode, The Sugarbaker design firm was about to be taken over by Kiki or whoever, and the only way that Sugarbaker gang can save their job is by decorating an old house. In the old house, they start having "Gone with the Wind" flashbacks with each of the cast members as one of the characters from the movie. Each of the characters made their own version of "Gone with the Wind" in their flashbacks. While they are dreaming, they end up saving the house and telling Kiki to go on somewhere. The episode ended with bernice as Scarlett and Anthony as Rhett Butler. I liked how the show ended: Anthony (as Rhett): It's 1865, and people will talk. As he takes Bernice up the stairs, she sings her signature song "Black man, Black man, Where did you come from?"

That is correct. I read somewhere that if Delta had stayed on the show that the last episode was going to be her and Anthony getting married!

Now THAT would have been a good ending!

And regarding the actual final episode and what hch said -- 'As he takes Bernice up the stairs, she sings her signature song "Black man, Black man, Where did you come from?"' -- that is funny! I've seen that eppie, and I always crack up when she sings that!

I love this episode, Especially Kiki! I loved her, she was great....But I didn't like this episode as "the last" episode of dw...it didnt tell you what happened....I liked it but was disapointed they didnt focus more on reality instead of there daydreams....

I don't know....But she sings it in various episodes throughout the shows run... One funny one was when Anthony gets married and she sings it to his wifes father...it is too too funny

I saw one the other day where she was singing it to Anthony's new girlfriend (Jackee). "Black woman, black woman - where did you come from".

I always wondered how it ended - seemed really abrupt. How long did they know they were going to be finishing - or did they even. I only started watching reruns in the 90s.

They werent sure if they would be back for a 8th season. It wasnt until after they taped what they thought was a season finale that they found out they were canceled.

I thought it was good except for Allison. I never liked her.
