*Mistake* in one of the episodes

in the episode when Will joins the school's basketball team notice when Jazz and Will first go to the gymnasium to shoot hoops--Carlton's uniform is #23 now when they show Will's first game Carlton's number is 25 i looked around to see if someone else had the number 23 and it turns that one of Carlton's teammates does IS THAT A MISTAKE or NOT????

I don't know what to make of it. Carlton was practicing with the 23 uniform but wore the 25 uniform TWICE when they played the actual game.
