Default Car accidents

Car accidents are scary. I got in one today...No one was hurt and it wasn't my fault but I was freaking out.

Anyone have any stories?

Do I have stories? God yes I do! My car has been hit everywhere except for the roof. What's sad is that I wasn't even in my car for most of those accidents. I was only in one where I was moving and it wasn't my fault, because I had the right of way and some moron ran through a stop sign. That guy didn't even have insurance, and at that point I really didn't care. I just wanted to get the hell out of there.

That's what happened to me. Except this guy had insurance. Yeah. My car might be totalled though.

Sorry to hear that your car might be totalled. Thankfully you are okay. I guess the worst damage to my car was on the driver's side door. I parked my car outside my friends house, and her neighbor across the street backed into it. My mom at first wasn't going to get it fixed because the door worked fine. Until the woman called and starting yell at my mom. My mom said forget that, and so we got it fixed. Too bad all those other times nobody bothered to leave a note or anything.

I've been lucky that I haven't really had an accident in a while, but the one I remember I was in, I was hit on my side, near the back. I did a 180. Not hurt much, but I had a really bad bruise from my left shoulder to my right hip where my seatbelt was.

I don't drive yet, but I'm an accident-prone klutz, so I'm afraid I'll get into one when I do get my license. The only car accidents I've been into were with my parents...Just minor ones because of tail gaters.

On a more serious note: Two years ago, a girl from my school, a high school senior, passed away as a result of a car accident just two months before graduation. What happened was that it was raining and the roads were really slippery. She was on her way to a community event and she had to drive down a road with a steep curve. Witnesses said she was driving at the maximum speed limit, but for some reason her car fishtailed, jumped the center divider, and I think she was thrown out of the car when an oncoming car hit her. It was really devastating because she was a well-liked scholarly, athletic student and her life was just getting started. The parents of this girl have sued the city for millions of dollars for not putting a guardrail on the center divider (The road where the accident happened had fatalities before and despite protests for a guardrail, they never constructed one). Honestly, I don't know if my facts are right. All I know is that a car accident took this amazing person's life and whatever the status of the lawsuit is (and the fact that a guardrail is there now), nothing will ever bring the deceased back. It's a very, very unfortunate and tragic situation.

I havent been in an accident yet *knocks on wood*, but there have been a few times where Ive come close. Not hitting other cars, just me driving in bad weather, etc., but its still scary. Sometimes I can drive kinda stupid.

My dad and I were going down the street on a day right after a huge snowstorm, so the streets were still icey in spots. The speed limit on that street is 35 and for some reason he was going 40, which is really odd considering he hardly ever speeds. So we get to a stoplight and there's this guy stopped there and my dad tries to stop and doesn't and we hit him. Not much damage (the other guy didn't even want to call the cops), but I was freaking out. I was calling that other guy names and yelling at the top of my lungs.

And then there was that time I ran into a parked truck in the HS parking lot. Another snowy day and I couldn't see any of the lines and I decided to park next to someone so I could judge a decent parking spot. I got too close and peeled my front fender back like a banana peel. That was embarrassing as hell.

But the last accident I was involved in was when my front tire of my car blew and I wa going 70 on the freeway ( in the fast lane) Thank God my friend and I were not hurt, but I had to take a couple of valium for my nerves

That happened to me once too! Fortunately it was a back tire, but I was on an off ramp and a cop made me walk thru a ditch so I wasn't standing so close to the road and I couldn't get a hold of my parents. By the time it was over, I was so unnerved I thought I was going to puke on the highway.

I was tired as well I was coming back from Los Angeles, and it was like seven in the morning and I wanted to go home to go to bed, but I couldn't! I had to want waut around for a towing truck and then wait another hour for them to add on the spare, then I had to drive home (slowly and carefully) to a place to get a new tired, by ten I was very close of having a nervous breakdown...
