Truly Alike

This sitcom is about a single mom of two daughters. Megan Mullaly plays Sarah Claxton, a cosmetologist. Sarah's daughters are Ashley Claxton (Mila Kunis), 20, and Christina Claxton (Rachel Bilson), 18. Sarah, Ashley, and Christina live together in their New York Apartment. Across the hall from the Claxton women is the macho, hunky bartender (who happens to be a skirt-chasing bachelor), Mike Kelly (Dan Cortese). Ashley and Christina try their best to set their mom and Mike up together, despite their love-hate relationship. Their landlord and landlady, Tim and Denise Swanson (Jerry Seinfeld, Jami Gertz) also live in the apartment building. Tim and Mike are good friends, as Sarah and Denise are good friends. Tim and Denise join in on the fun of setting up Sarah and Mike. Yet Mike is too busy being a "ladies man" to settle down with just one woman, and Sarah is too busy criticizing all of Mike's dates/girlfriends/one-night-stands. Sarah's widowed mother, Sharon (Marlo Thomas) just moved closeby, and often drops by. Sharon can't wait to see Sarah get married. Ashley, Christina, Sharon, Tim, and Denise all realize that Mike and Sarah are just "truly alike" and that is what is keeping them apart (and the fact that they both don't realize how much they really and truly are alike and care for each other).
