I go with the late Chuck Jones. He was a terrific director of Looney Tunes. I know other directors from that era. Friz Freling, Arthur Davis, Robert McKimson, Tex Avery, Bob Clampett (before he created the TV series for Beany & Cecil as part of "Matty's Funday Funnies") and who couldn't forget to add to the list, Frank Tashlin.

Chuck Jones, he took the medium out of funny animals and turned it into art ( Whats opera Doc, being a fine example...not to mention,Rikki tikki tavi, the Grinch, Horton hears a who, etc )
