The actor is Lamont Bentley (Hakeem).

That's crazy. I've been getting into the show all over again thanks to the-N broadcasting it, and I was checking around the net to see what he's been up to recently. I'm sorry to hear about this accident. That's very, very sad news. Peace and condolences to his family.

I just heard about it a little while ago. I'm sorry to hear that. I haven't seen much of him since Moesha ended.

'Moesha' Co-Star Bentley Killed

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Lamont Bentley, who played Hakeem Campbell on UPN's popular "Moesha," was killed in a single car accident on around midnight on Wednesday (Jan. 19) morning. The actor was 31.
According to the Journal Sentinel in Bentley's home town of Milwaukee, the actor was going onto a highway off-ramp on the San Diego Freeway at a high rate of speed. His car went off the road, through a chain link fence and turned over several times, tossing Bentley. He was pronounced dead at 12:23 a.m. on Wednesday.

Bentley was the only person in the car, returning from a screening of the short film "Shards."

In addition to his long stint on "Moesha," Bentley appeared in the features "The Wash," "The Breaks" and "Tales From the Hood" and played Tupac Shakur in the telefilm "Too Legit: The MC Hammer Story."
"This is a big year for him," Bentley's manager Susan Ferris tells the AP. "We were very excited because he was coming into his own. It's like a candle being snuffed right out."

Bentley had two children.

I just heard about this. Sad news. He was funny on Moesha always coming over her house to get something to eat LOL. I like the part in The Wash movie when he got knocked out by Shaq LOL. I saw him in the MC Hammer movie.

That's sad! I wondered if any of the cast members from Moesha went to the funeral. Does Brandy even know? What she had to say about his death?
