Thoughts?
Dr. Cox's rants are starting to tire me, but I still LOL'd when he did the "most annoying person" one. Janitor's crush on Eliot is very cool, and the a capella thing was great. JD was getting a little annoying with his attitude towards Eliot, and it almost made me think for a moment that we should start liking Eliot more, and liking JD less. Turk's situation was a well done story thought, and it did well to strengthen both him and Carla as characters. Episode was so-so -- nothing awesome, but still fairly decent. |

I didn't like it.
Didn't laugh out loud once, and that is rare. Dr. Cox's dialogue was way too weak (almost forced and unfunny) in this episode and the writing in general was not strong. The storyline was decent but they did nothing with it. |

It had a few funny moments, but I wouldn't call it a classic. I love the "Giant Doctor" bit.
I find that even a bad Scrubs episode still has a few laughs in it. |

The character of Dr. Cox is a one-trick pony and that one trick is starting to get old. One man can only rant so much before it starts to wear thin. I noticed this last season and hoped something would come up in his character that would change, but nothing has.

What's with all the negativity around Dr. Cox? First of all he's not simply a one-dimensional character.
I agree in this particular episode his rants weren't great, but you have to remember one thing, there will be weak episodes, as there are in every series. There were a few funny moments, but overall it's one of the weakest shows of the series. This, of course, does not mean I am giving up on the series, as it sounds some of you are doing. Tuesday's episode was still funnier than most shows on tv right now. One question, though: Isn't the Janitor married? I thought he just had a little crush on Elliot, but he seems intent on going through with it (well, maybe his efforts has been stifled a bit). But still, does this mean there will be more of a Janitor dynamic/angle? |

No way would I say Dr. Cox is a one-trick character. Remember when Ben died, and the episode where JD's dad died? Also most episodes including his love for Jordan really expand his character a bit. Just when he's not the center of a storyline, his only lines would be the "one-trick" he'd be doing.
Janitor is married from what I remember (referencing when his "poor wife slayed" to make shorts for JD). But the whole crush idea is really cool. |
