I have no idea what a real Vicki Lawrence signature looks like so I couldn't tell you.

You have to check out the feedback though. 100% positive feedback from over 1000 people is pretty damn good!

Personally though, I would never buy someone else's autograph they got from someone famous. It feels less personal than getting it yourself, you know what I mean?

I could forge a Vicki auto, put it up on eBay and people would buy it from me anyway because I have 100% feedback.

The only surefire way to guarantee an authentic autograph is to meet that celeb in person and watch them sign in front of you.

I've seen a lot of really bad-looking fake Vicki auto's on eBay. There was one I saw on there last summer where somebody signed her name, but it was definitely NOT her writing at ALL. It looked like a 80 year old with shaky hands had tried to sign "Vicki Lawrence". Everybody that has an authentic auto from her knows that when she signs her last name, you can't read all the letters. If you CAN read her last name, it's either on a picture from a long time ago (when TCBS was still on the air) when she used to do that, or it's a fake.

I know you have gotten a few auto's from her in-person (and so have I) so I would suggest going with the in-person autos that you have from her.

I wasn't planning on buying it or anything, but it kinda makes me mad that people are trying to pass off these fakes as real autographs and then people are buying them--thinking they are authentic.

It's OK. It really does sound like you know your stuff. HuntingtonM15 and I are also serious auto collectors. I've been collecting on and off since I was a kid, but I started getting serious about it two years ago.

Yep, I'm a big collector, too. I actually haven't written to any celebs in quite a while, but I hope to get back to doing that soon!

I was on eBay just a few minutes ago, and I spotted the BIGGEST fake EVER. I was rolling!

Get a big load of this. OMG. WTF was this guy thinking?! He tried to imitate her writing, but it bombed. BIG TIME.

Again, folks. THIS IS NOT HOW VICKI SIGNS HER NAME. You can read her "Vicki" but you CAN'T read her "Lawrence" because it's a bunch of scribbles after the "L."

The autograph on the picture of Vicki Lawrance is excatly the same as the on on this site about Staci Keanan.

http://www.stacikeanan.net/

Now you know it is a fake.

Found another one!

People, she does NOT sign her first name with a "e" on the end, and again...When she writes her last name, YOU CANNOT READ IT. She begins with "La" then the rest is just scribbles...

And for some reason I CANNOT understand, "Carol Burnett" has also signed this (Vicki's "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia" album! ). I put quotes around Carol's name, because it's very obvious her signature was also forged.

Why, why, WHY do people do this? FOLKS, BE CAREFUL OF WHAT SIGNED ITEMS YOU BUY ON EBAY.

There is a VERY reputable autograph-collecting organization that deals with guaranteeing autographs are authentic - UACC, Universal Autograph Collectors' Club. They have been around for decades, and there are Registered Dealers within the UACC. If you go to eBay and see a signed item you want, make absolutely sure to read the description to see if the seller is a UACC Registered Dealer. Ignore the other auctions that claim the autographs are real with COA's to "prove" it. A monkey could design a COA...Be leery of them!

The Vicki signature looks even worse than the Carol one! Whoever signed that album must not be very bright. They can clearly see at the top that Vicki does not have an "e" at the end!

Our albums look much better don't they Allison?
