If you thought this was the end of the road for T70sS, YOU CAN THINK AGAIN!
Monday, January 17, 2005 FOX RENEWS 'THAT '70s SHOW' FOR AN EIGHTH SEASON Released by FOX FOX RENEWS "THAT '70s SHOW" FOR AN EIGHTH SEASON Fox Broadcasting Company has ordered an eighth season of the comedy series THAT '70s SHOW, it was announced today by Gail Berman, President, Entertainment. The nostalgic series airs Wednesdays (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT). "THAT '70s SHOW is one of the strongest comedies on television," said Executive Producer Tom Werner. "I am thrilled that this outstanding ensemble is returning next season. After all, it's only 1979." THAT '70s SHOW revolves around a group of friends growing up and becoming young adults in the suburbs of Wisconsin. But rites of passage aren't all that easy at a time when jumpsuits and platforms are the epitome of cool. The gang includes: Everyman ERIC FORMAN (Topher Grace); his independent girlfriend DONNA (Laura Prepon); the good-looking but gullible KELSO (Ashton Kutcher); conspiracy theorist HYDE (Danny Masterson); Hyde's peppy girlfriend JACKIE (Mila Kunis); and FEZ (Wilmer Valderrama), the foreign kid who's soaking up American culture like a sponge. There's also Eric's stern father RED (Kurtwood Smith); upbeat mother KITTY (Debra Jo Rupp); and Donna's dad BOB (Don Stark), who has a penchant for perms and medallions. THAT '70s SHOW continues to feature the signature elements that made it a hit, including the surreal dream sequences, the 360-degree basement scenes and the classic '70s score. Over the years, the series has hosted numerous guest stars/'70s icons, including Brooke Shields, Gloria Gaynor, Paul Anka, Shirley Jones, Danny Bonaduce, Alice Cooper, Marion Ross, Eve Plumb, Valerie Harper and Roger Daltrey. Other guest stars include Luke Wilson, Lindsay Lohan, The Rock, Jack Osbourne, Seth Green, Jessica Simpson and Fred Willard. THAT '70s SHOW is a Carsey-Werner production created by Bonnie Turner, Terry Turner and Mark Brazill. Executive producers are Jeff Filgo, Jackie Filgo, Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner.

What is Fox thinking? Nothing against fans of the show, but it's clearly over. Fox gets better ratings out of "Trading Spouses" and "Nanny 911" for gods sakes.
You have to wonder what the ratings for next season will be like, especially with the departure of Kutcher and Grace. An even bigger question is what exactely Fox is paying for this. |

It's silly to go on without Topher and Ashton.

O Geebus, there comes a time in tv history when you have to let shows go & this would be one of them. The show is just running stale now and if topher & ashton go hows that suppose to work. as far as season 8 goes I hope they come up with some better storylines like the guys going to college instead of hanging aroung the house 95% doing nothing.

I would say next season would be a miserable failure. They would be better letting the show go with the original cast.

I think they should have kept Topher. Topher's one of the actors who keeps the show together! I'll be shocked if this isn't the last season coming up and they keep it running for one more season after season 8. I really will. Eric's my favorite character besides Fez and Hyde. =/
