According to TV trade reports, Christine Baranski has been hired for the cast of Jennifer Love Hewitt's upcoming ABC sitcom (I believe Ed O'Neill is also in the cast). However, in September Baranski had been announced for the Fox midseason sitcom "Spellbound," in which she would play the witch mother (her husband, played by Barry Bostwick, was also a witch) of a male witch (Dave Annable) who falls in love with a mortal woman (Maggie Lawson). However, it was not on Fox's midseason schedule, so I'm wondering if the show, created by two "Frasier" writers, simply fell through or whether her part will be recast. Done right, the premise had potential -- but I also note that NBC had the show's rights two years ago and passed on it.
