A Few Things... - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Hello all... I just found this site earlier this week and I read and read and read all the old posts... I watch UM almost everyday and I sit there and wonder, what has happened with this case or that person, or whatever.... I so wish that there was better follow-ups on each episode... but at least I have this board to check in and I have learned alot reading things posted here... I really get so sad and sometimes I cry when there is missing people involved... I CAN'T imagine a family living without knowing where a loved one is or IF they are even alive... and I especially hate to see a missing child... I have one 13 year old daughter and I know that I would die if she were ever missing... I just can't imagine...
I must say that I really got interested in unsolved mysteries (in general, not necessarily the show) with the JonBenet Ramsey murder... that is a BIG one... I followed that case for over 2 years very close, and I just knew that the parents were involved, but now, who knows with all the new evidence...
As my id name identifies, I am from NC and I just shuddered when NC is mentioned on UM... it always seems that NC is usually mentioned when associated with finding a killer... that's sad!!
Here in NC, not too far from my hometown, we have a sad UM of our own... I mean, I am sure that there are many, many more, but this one is particularly sad... alittle over a year ago, a teenager was found dead on the side of the road in his neighborhood and he was killed by some kind of hit to the head... no one knows (that has come public) whether it was an accident, such as something in the back of a truck struck him while riding by or if someone actually, intentionally hit, such as with a baseball bat... and the family has to live without knowing what happened to there son... that's so sad!!

But all this got me to thinking about a mysterious death that happened in my own family... it all happened either before I was born or soon after... but my dad's family owned a small gas station on the corner of a busy intersection in Raleigh NC, which they owned until about 5 years ago... but over 30 years ago, my dads brother was shot and killed out in front of the store, while he was going to open the store, and he wasn't robbed and nothing was stolen from the store... no one knows who or why he was killed... I have tried to do a search or this and I have come up empty handed... but its a personal UM...

Welcome to the site. I think we all share your curiosity and concern, and that's why we've been so emotionally attached at some level to many of these cases.

There's anotherCrime and Justice Forum where you may find support and information for your hometown and family unsolved mysteries. I visit the site from time to time and it's a great community.
