The Cosby Show debuted on September 20, 1984, then 3 years later, September 24, 1987, came A Different World.

The first season Lisa Bonet was in the show but she didn't appear in the show after that. She was pregnant and returned to The Cosby Show. The show did quite well with and without Lisa Bonet there. The characters really expanded after Lisa left.

Nah, I don't think the show was ever the same after Lisa Bonet left. I thought the first season was the best cos Marisa Tomei was in it.
