I love American Dreams, but wouldn't it be kind of pointless to sign up (and pay) for the fan club when the show isn't doing too good in the ratings. (And the chances of it getting picked up for a 4th season aren't good.) ??

That's good good point... here is what I can tell you:

First of all, the majority of the membership cost is to cover the membership kit- the gifts you will receive upon joining, (color photos, etc...).

Second of all, I have personally asked Jonathan Prince about the fate of the show... specifically Season Four- they fully expect to have a Season Four! I wouldn't do all this work for the fan club if I didn't have every assurance that the show would not be canceled at the end of this season.

Thirdly, I have plenty of information, photos, interviews, etc... to cover a year's worth of newsletters, even in the extremely unlikely event that it WAS cenceled. So in no way would you lose out.

For those that are not familiar with the way the fan club came about:

I am a regular dancer on the American Bandstand segments of American Dreams. I created the fan club, with the full support and assistance of Jonathan Prince, and the AD production staff. I am as huge a fan of the show as anyone- and I would not be doing this in order to steer and AD fans wrong!

UPDATE:

Due to overwhelming requests, you can now pay with a credit card through Paypal. The FAQ section has also been updated.

Another update for the fan club:

There will be a drawing among the first 100 members who join the fan club. When you join, your name will be added for the possibility to win an American Dreams Season 1 DVD, and a signed episode script.

Yeah, very cool... And if membership is low at all, don't necessarily mistake it for lack of enthusiasm.

If not for current unemployment I would join this and do many other things that I enjoy.
