Default Deal Or No Deal

I don't know if this is just an aussie game show but anyone heard of this?
It involves 26 briefcases and one contains $200,000 The rest carry other amounts from as little as 50 cents. You gotta choose one brief case then narrow it down to get different bank offers. You can back out at certain points of the game.
Is that in any other countries?
It has a particularly good host here makes it heaps interesting and exciting. The best gameshow in my opinion in Aus.

Nope! "Deal or No Deal" will not be in the US version. The show is now being shown in an Austrailian version. There is no host for the US show, the host is in Austrailia not in the US.

But I'm guessing Jeff Foxworthy for Deal Or No Deal for the US version.

Yep, it just premiered in the US. The host is Howie Mandel. There are still 26 suitcases, but the money ranges from .01 cents to $1 million.

I watched it for a few days and I've enjoyed it. It seems like a pretty easy game to get some money, and it's interesting seeing people take the risks of losing all that money for some little amount. Definitely a show I wouldn't mind being on!

Thumbs down

Ehh, I watched an episode and didn't really get hooked. It was ok and mildly entertaining... but since it wasn't challenging at all for the people to get the money, I kind of lost interest. I hear the show pulled NBC out of a viewing slump on Monday nights, though.[/SIZE]

More Deal or No Deal episodes are coming, shall we say, in March of 2006?

I saw the United States version and thought it was fair. Maybe because to me I have seen it before. Many years ago a game show hosted by Geoff Edwards probably in the late 1970's was very similar. Instead of briefcases it was pretty boxes with money inside. The show was I think was called Treasure Hunt. I prefer shows in which you learn something. Jeopardy, Millionare. THis deal or no deal show is just chance.
