Is This a Familiar Plot Device? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I have noticed, especially in the Tell it to Ella episode when Ward and June are talking about something the boys have done, one of three things happens.

1. The phone rings.
2. The doorbell rings.
3. Wally or Beaver comes through the door.

It seems that this is a familiar plot device that also may be used in other sitcoms.

And also it seems like Larry (in the earlier years) or Eddie (in the later ones) would always be there when there was a problem.

Yeah, another thing you can add to the list is them disturbing Ward and June in the middle of the night at numerous times. You can tell they are interupting something judgeing from how long it takes Ward to get to the bedroom door.

Haha that's pretty funny! It does seem like it usually takes him awhile to get there doesn't it?

I thought you would like that one! My husband says that I should be a bowler because my mind is always in the gutter.

Isn't that the corniest thing?
