Post the final episode

was anyone else here as sad as I was when the final Cosby aired? I was 12 years old when it aired and had been watching the show since I was 5 (and had been watching the reruns since they began airing in 1988), and to me, Cosby going off the air was signalling the end of my childhood (the very end came when Roseanne went off).

While I was glad to see Bill and Phylicia together again on their 1996-2000 show, the chemistry was just never the same.

I was 6 when the show started and in 1988 I also watched the show in reruns on WWOR. Lisa Bonet should have been on the Final Episode no excuses or exceptions.

I agree about that. Lisa was a more important part of the show than Olivia or Pam could ever be. Despite bad blood, she still should've been in the final episode. I also hated the way they slowly wrote her out of season 7 halfway through it.

Thank you. That's what I'm talkin' about! You can tell by the appearances. 7th episode 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 and on she is on there with significance but by the time the end of the season came, she was just refered to and was seldom seen. It was Bill Cosby's idea to let her go. I believe he said "It doesn't make sense to have a 21yr old act like a 12 yrs old". That was directed towards the character. I don't think it was towards Lisa.

I always felt they should've at least given Denise a proper goodbye episode instead of her being seen less frequently to the point that she's off.

Also, I didn't like how Olivia remained during that final episode and even Martin made a few visits. That would've been like keeping Elvin and ditching Sondra.

Usually if a show is good the final episode is always sad..........

I think his show had a good run,I would have loved seeing his original shows IN THE 60s,im sure they were just as good OR better than the 80s one!!

I didnt see the final episode ever...

I was 2 when it began in 1984 and 9 when it ended in 1992.

I think it could have gone on 4 more seasons, until Rudy graduated high school in 1996 for a total of 12 seasons. Beyond that, no. But for sure, I could have seen it going until she left the house and Cliff and Claire were finally "alone". Rudy was in 8th grade in the final season? Or they could have had her skip a grade or something and graduated earlier on like Vanessa did. Rudy going off to college would have been as far as the show would have gone. I doubt they would have gone longer.

When it ended, there were still people living there and not leaving. Within the next few years Theo could have married and moved out, Rudy would have finally dated Kenny and then gone off to college, Pam would have left for college and moved out, Olivia would have been officially gone by 1992 or she could have stayed a few more seasons until she was asked to move with her parents, and Vanessa would have married Dabnus and moved to his state. I think those things would have happened had the show continued at least another few seasons.
