Default Joey Lawrence destroyed this show!!!

I used to love this show until Joey Lawrence came on. I knew the minute that pipsqueak came on he was being introduced as a permanent new character. I could've just killed him! The show should've focused on Nell Carter more when the girls grew up and left. She could've carried the show well. It was her show!! I didn't mind Addy, but this show blew when it became The Lawrence Brothers Show. I wonder if Nell Carter hated those kids secretly? I'm glad to see a picture of the original cast on this page! Thank you!

Joey and Matthew were cute on the show.
They added them due to ratings
Nell and Joey were like mother and son
Nell use to go over to the Lawrences house for Christmas

Joey Lawrence added a lot to the show. If it wasn't for him the later season's especially the last one would have totally sucked.

I loved the addition of Joey Lawrence. I used some of his ideas. His debut he came to the Kaniski door stating that he was collection for "Jerry's Kids". Being a young kid back in early 86', I was able to use that idea myself when our family flew into NY for a funeral. I went around the house telling people that I was collecting for "Jerry's Kids. Needless to say, I cleaned up. I took home about $31.00 for myself. It did help that my grandad gave me $20.00 dollars. The first thing I bought was a Big Gulp from 7-11 when I got back to my home in Tampa. Thanks Joey!

Joey didn't help or hurt the show.... it was still good when he joined, I don't think it really began to drop until Dolph Sweet's passing, but that was nature, not the writers.

I like Joey on Gimmie A Break.

The relationship between Nell and Joey was awesome.

They needed a SON on that show.

We had three girls.

Why not a son?

I think Nell moving to NYC with Joey and Matthew Lawrence was the real straw the broke the camels back, the two seasons with Joey and Dolph were good, and the show still held up the season after Dolph's death but having Nell move to NYC with Joey and having the girls completely gone from the show was the end

has anyone seen Joey, oops Joseph, lately? he is almost not even looking human anymore, he's not even 30 and he's had about as much plastic surgery to make Michael Jackson gasp

I never cared much for Joey Lawrence..I think he's just annoying (and let's not even talk about his short lived musical career). However, I didn't mind him being on the show. The last season sadly wasn't very good at all...the season in New York and the uneccessary addition of Joey's real life younger brother. It's sad that this great show ended on a low, low note.
