Cool DVDS Book

I'm currently reading a book called The Official Dick Van Dyke Show Book by Vince Waldren. It chronicles the History of the show from its origins as sitcom called Head of the Family which Carl Reiner originally wrote as a starring vehicle for himself to its metemorphasis into a starring vehicle for a largly unknown Broadway actor named Dick Van Dyke.(what's a Dick Van Dyke?) It is a fascinating behind the scenes look at the creation of a T.V. show as well as a window into the lives of the many talented people(both in front of and behind the camera) who for five remarkable years created the magic the we have been enjoying ever since. I heartily recommend this book to all DVDS fans who have not yet read it.

I think I read that. I know there's two or three books with that title, so I'm not sure if it's the same one. Was it the newer one or the older one from the 80's? The one I read talked about the same things, and it was a good book

I read that book this past summer. It is very interesting!

Cool

Funkydorygirl07 To answer your question, the book I am refering to was published in 1994 and reissued in 2001.

Ok, thanks! I didn't read that one yet. This Summer I read a book with the same title, but I think it was published in 1988. Maybe not 1988, but sometimes in the 1980's for sure. It talked about the same things though (Most of them, but not all, because your book is twice as big!), and I thought it was very interesting!

Today I finished reading this book for the second time. I read it several years back when TV Land first started running the shows.

Excellent book full of great info.

Does anyone know if the new version has anything different than the old one that I have? I like the cover on mine better (blue/grey coloring) and it seems the page count is the same. But it mentions something about new interviews, etc.

I'm sure the revised edition does have different things in it, that's what makes it revised. That is the edition that I read last summer. I didn't see the first edition, so I don't know what is revised in the revised edition? Am I making any sense?

I think you're making sense. I just noticed the page number was the same so that's why I was wondering what changed.
