How the hell did he not break his neck doing that stunt?? I'm sitting there like, "Wow, for a sitcom this is a pretty lavish set up!". Hanging off a balcony then dangling from a pipe...and then he drops! I'm like, stuntman for sure, but you always know a cut in a sitcom is done live, so it was him, and there was no mat!
Ritter, you were somethin'. |

Yeah that was a great stunt!! That's just another thing that proves John Ritter's talent even further. He definetly was something else, just like you said.

Great Topic!!
![]() I totally agree and this totally makes my point of How in the world doesn't John get more respect?? LOOK what he did for a TV Sitcom! Look at the risks! But then we see other TV Guys act like the sea should part Jerry Seinfeld & Bill Cosby are all smug and acts like they are Jesus Christ WHAT did they ever do? Really what?? they read a few lines, and with Jerry we all know now that Larry David was the brains behind the show. But then go back to John Ritter, the man was a genius! He was the last of the old fashion legends like Charlie Chaplin. But John had it all, he mixed Chaplin with Lucy & things from the 1920's Silent Films to Early Days on Movies, TV & Radio Shows, with a modern touch. Then ON TV for average money for the time, took risks with his health. You didn't see Alan Alda or Carrol O'Connor do anything like this and they were making TONS more money. John was for us the fans, the writers and mostly THE LAUGHS! The soul of bringing a smile to everyones face Imagine being a writer and seeing John Ritter bringing your vision to life.. wow what could have been better?
