Default Jumped the Shark when...

- Will and Carlton went to college and worked in that Peacock place.

- They replaced the original actress who played Aunt Viv

- Too many short and fat jokes (it was funny at first but got old kind of quickly)

- Nicky was born.

- Nicky went from a baby to a five year old with no explination and became one of those annoying sitcom kids with unrealisitic dialouge.

- When Ashley started singing, it felt like the show was used to promote Tatanya Ali's (sp?) music career.

- The Will Gets Shot and the anti-drinking episode.

- Lisa ditches Will at the alta and disappears.

I really liked the Fresh Prince but it sure jumped a lot of times...

Nicky was not needed on the show, neither was the 2nd Vivian.

I think the college thing was good for the show. It served to expand Will and Carlton's characters. It's good to see them interracting with eachother in different environments. There are only so many stories you can set in the poolhouse, the kitchen, or the livingroom.

Also, Will himself said that he wanted to broach more serious topics towards the end of the series, such as him getting shot, the drinking, and meeting his father. Sure it was a sitcom, but he didn't want to confine the show to just comedy. As I remembered, a lot of viewers responded positively to some of the more serious episodes.

Speaking of Ashley's singing career, that was 2 epidoses long, and she didn't sing for the rest of the series. Lol, ironically, Tatyana Ali didn't put out an album for another 2 years after those episodes were aired and the series was ended.

The whole Lisa thing did bother me though. It's never mentioned in season 6. And his mother is married to Lisa's father, which is never mentioned either.

the show was funny as hell throughout all 6 years, but I think it started to lose its effect once Will finally started to fit in and turned into the cocky typical "cool black guy" type of character who goes around chasing every chick he sees

the short/fat jokes never get old though

I think the very last episode should have been where Lisa & Will got married, because I felt the lsat season wasn't needed, & they seemed to try to make the show too funny in the last season by constantly bringing in guest stars & constantly having too many Will&Carlton episodes.. It was still funny till the end but I felt the last season wasn't needed. Then they never addressed what happened with Will&Lisa.

I liked the last episode, but I didn't want the Banks family to move.

I could never get over the Aunt Vivian replacement. Sorry. I still can't watch most of those episodes knowing that Janet Hubert should have been there.
