Is my friend a whore? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Well I got back from vacation on New Years day around midnight and pretty much right away, my friend IM's me saying "I am a drunken whore". Her story was that she was at this New Years party with like 250 people...all 17-18, and she ended up making out with a random guy she didn't even know for something like 3,4 hours straight and everyone was like in shock at her. She said people ditched her because they were emabarassed that she was acting like that and she said how some people took pictures and she was going to be so uncomfortable in school the following Monday. Now I don't know how bad it really was but she said she didn't do anything more than just make out with that guy. Does that make her a whore? It doesn't seem THAT bad but I know her well and I can say that she's not the type to normally do that. But it was like 3,4 hours nonstop in front of everyone and she didn't even know the guy, beyond his name which she had just learned. She said she feels sick when she thinks about it and she's convinved that she's a whore which upsets me to see her like that. What do you think?

uh no. random hookups are normal, esp at that age. anyone who says different is prude and just isn't getting ass of their own so they have to pick people apart.

and damn it was New Years Eve. I messed around with this girl that i've been friends with for years now. Had we not been drunk it just would've been weird.

True. I don't think she is but I'm having a hard time convincing her. She feels sick cause she didn't know him or whatever. I wasn't there so I don't know everything that went down.

that's what i said. i'm like, you were drunk, you had a good time, good for you, not characteristic of you, but who cares...

No, she sounds like she is worried about her reputation..but as you stated Who Cares!. People should live their lives for themselves and not through others. She was having fun and she was drunk..she is human.

in society's eyes, she is viewed as a whore. why? because she made out with practically a stranger; freely giving herself to a guy where true love was not there. as we all know, heavy kissing leads to sex and if she kissed him non-stop for four hours, she should have midas well had sex with him! So, yes, she IS a whore. next time, she should make better choices!

Just because she kissed a guy and had too much to drink, that doesn't make her a whore. My gosh that word gets tossed around like crazy! If she's sleeping with every guy she possibly can.. that's one thing. But why in the world is she a freakin' whore because she was having fun and KISSED someone? How about we call a guy a whore for doing the same thing? It's stupid.

But that's just my opinion.

No, I don't think she is a whore. It looks like she actually has some sense of her own mind to even regret it.

Speaking as someone who has seen a lot of drunken bahavior, I can say your friend is not a whore.
But, your friend sounds like she loses her inhibitions when she drinks, and that can be dangerous. The last things your friend needs is a bad reputation, so she should learn to control herself a little bit.

that's true and the thing is that it was totally out of her character to do that. no one expected it from her and they were all wowed, and she's worried about her rep and that she's gonna lose peoples respect or something.
so i guess she's out of line to call herself a whore but whatever other issues she faces is a whole different matter.

People do a lot of stupid things when they drink. She went a bit over the top, but that happens. She shouldn't let it get to her so much.
