Post Jumped The Shark

This show ,in my humble opinion, jumped the shark(or lost my interest) when Christine was trying to get pregnant. And also when they moved to Florida. The show lost its charm for me! that whole pregnancy thing was so boring! It was really dragged out too long! I always liked the first few seasons better!

I know this was posted awhile ago, but I agree with you. Coach definitely lost something when they moved to Florida. Sitcoms usually do when they change settings. When they moved to Florida, I lost all intrest in this show.

However, I'm currently trying to get back into it because of a promise I made to someone.

I've read so many times that Coach jumped the shark with the move to Florida that I have to believe it's true. At the JTS website, everyone wrote about the disastrous move. I'm wondering why. Did the format change? What, in particular, made it less funny in Florida? It's the characters that I find so funny.
I'm up to the start of season 4 now, and I'm just waiting for it to bomb. Lots of people say the marriage and the baby derailed the show too.
Perhaps I'll just have to wait for it to start sucking.
Who knows, maybe I'll never stop enjoying the show.

Well I think the show at any point was decent, but it was far more entertaining in Minnesota. I personally think they should have continued the show at MN. I think the show derailed when they were in Florida and they were talking about adopting the baby in conjunction. It started to be more about that than day to day humor like in Minnesota. Still one of my favorite shows of all time!

Fan of Seinfeld, Coach, Home Improvement, Roseanne..all great shows!

The addition of a kid on a show usually spells trouble. If something works for a show, they should leave it be.
I'm also a huge Seinfeld fan. I've seen every episode numerous times. I miss Jerry and the gang.

I think the problem was the setting was all wrong. The cold and dreary conditions of Minnesota really seemed to fit the show perfectly. The warm sunshine of Florida just didn't do it for me. They also did drag the whole baby thing a little too long as well.

I agree with all of you who say Coach wasn't as good in Florida. But look on the bright side: if they hadn't moved to Florida, we would have never gotten those great eps with Tim Conway as the gardener. Or the Turtle World episode. Or learned that the Burleighs were big Barbie collectors. There were a number of fairly decent episodes in seasons 8 and 9, but the setting just didn't fit the show.
